Volunteer Opportunities
FIGT would like to invite you to share your talents and skills. Currently we are seeking candidates to work in the following areas:
Website Development - Be part of an exciting project to upgrade the Resources section of our website. We need volunteers to help us review, categorize and upload existing and new material. You'll need a computer and internet connection; collaboration with team members will be via email, phone and/or Skype. Flexible schedule - depending upon your availability. Help us become the source of quality information about globally mobile families. Please contact ExecDirector@figt.org to learn more.
Social Marketing - Are you a Facebook fanatic? A lover of LinkedIn? A Twitterholic? If you love social media almost as much as you love FIGT then we need you to help us keep our platforms lively and interesting. Experience using one or more of these social media sites is required. It will only take 10 minutes of your time ... but you do need to be able to commit to a regular schedule 4-6 days a week. Please contact ExecDirector@figt.org and become a member of our virtual volunteer team.
Committee Support
In addition, below are FIGTs current committees which welcome various talents. Contact the Nominating and Board Development Committee at ExecDirector@figt.org to request further information or to submit your name for committee consideration.
Nominating and Board Development Committee identifies, screens and selects individuals to serve in various FIGT capacities; encourages participation by prospective leaders and promotes the development of leadership skills and an understanding of procedural issues.
Finance Committee develops budgets and provides financial reports to the FIGT Board, the IRS and other authorities. In case an audit should be necessary, this committee would suggest an independent firm to the Board.
Program Committee recruits and invites speakers, reviews proposals, participates in the selection/rejection process and develops the conference program. Committee members are asked to assume leadership roles for distinct aspects of the program, as well as to contribute overall ideas and perspectives.
Conference Planning Committee manages and executes conference logistics: mailings, name badges, conference folder preparation and assembly, conference facility organization (meals, rooms and equipment needs) and recruits volunteers for conference staffing.
Publishing and Editing Committee assumes responsibility for writing, editing and designing brochures and flyers required by FIGT. Committee members also accept and solicit articles, news releases and other resources to edit and post on the FIGT web site.
Marketing and Public Relations Committee develops marketing plans and disseminates press releases and other forms of promotion, which include brochures, hardcopy mailings and electronic releases. This committee collaborates with Publishing to maximize conference exposure.
