About the Webinar

This webinar is an inspiring introduction to ‘networking’ with ease and joy - something that will be particularly useful at #FIGT16NL.

Many people dislike the word ’networking’. It sounds too mechanical, as if we are programmed to connect with the purpose of achieving a certain goal.

Katarina Holm-DiDio’s philosophy is different. She believes that humans have a desire to form relationships of a varying degrees of closeness: in our work environment, our private life as well as in the most creative of contexts, where the private and the public meet.

The FIGT conference exists in that creative and collaborative world. It is most often described as a large, global, diverse, inclusive and multicultural family of likeminded people from different walks of life, goals and destinations.

This webinar explores the opportunities, skills and tools for creating lasting and meaningful relationships at the FIGT Conference and beyond, with special advice for the introverted among us, as well as the social butterflies.

About the Facilitator

Nearly 20 years ago, Katarina Holm-DiDio moved from Finland to the U.S. then on to another 5 moves. She worked at the U.N. and Columbia University, raised a family and started her own successful consulting practice.

At the time, her work at the U.N. was a dream come true she learned about working in a global multicultural environment. She managed a team and specialized in recruiting and international staffing, global staff development and career support.

In 2008, she left the U.N. on her own initiative to seek work/family balance and to pursue a more creative and entrepreneurial path. Today, she continues to collaborate with the U.N. and leads intercultural training programs and repatriation training for corporate staff and their families.
