FIGTNL together with #FIGTMember, The Expat Kids Club, is pleased to announce a special event, featuring another #FIGTMember and Author, Mariam Ottimofiore, on 24 September at The Expat Kids Club offices in Amstelveen, from 6:15 pm - 8:30 pm.

Expat Kids Club is located at MOOC Club, Lindenlaan 75, 1185 LC Amstelveen.

Mariam, who recently published her book ‘This Messy Mobile Life’ will talk about how expat parents can apply her mola tool to raise their globally mobile family around the world. She will have copies of her books available for purchase (cash only; €18/copy) and author signing.

This event is open to the public and free of charge. However, space is limited so do register ahead of time by emailing netherlands@figt.org

Mariam Navaid Ottimofiore is a Pakistani expat author, writer, researcher and economist. She has lived in nine countries as an expat child and an expat adult - 17 years and four continents later, her life on the move is messy. A 40-foot container, an expat husband from another corner of the world and two children born 3,000 miles apart have added complexity, challenges and many joys to living a multicultural, multilingual and multi-mobile life. She currently lives in Accra, Ghana, with her German/Italian husband and her German-Pakistani-Italian kids, born in Singapore and Dubai. Passionate about languages and cultures, Mariam speaks fluent Urdu, English, Hindi and German with some Italian, Danish and Arabic on the side. She is an expert at making embarrassing mistakes in every new language she picks up, is perpetually lost in every new city she calls home and can never remember her new address or where she packed those suede boots!

The Expat Kids Club is an English-speaking child and adolescent psychology practice providing individualized support to expatriate children via our multidisciplinary team, which uses the latest evidence-based interventions to promote health and create custom-made treatment programs for each individual child, depending on their unique needs.

FIGT NL, like all FIGT affiliates, carries forward the global mission of promoting cross-sector connections for sharing research and developing best practices that support the growth, success, and well-being of people crossing cultures across the world.
